Who are we?

The Forum des Femmes pour le Development : Association for Women and Development (AWD) was established in 2005, following a series of wars that started in 1993 and ended in 1999 in the Republic of Congo, which left women, single mothers, girls, and widows, vulnerable victims of a long history of war not covered by existing government programs. Prior to establishment of the (AWD), women issues were often neglected. The mission of the AWD is to enable women to lift themselves out of poverty, to help them to become self-sufficient and able to provide for their families, and to empower them to fight for women’s emancipation and rights.

The 2F.D Association is recognized by the Congolese state and registered in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization by the receipt of declaration of association
N ° 324 / / MATD / DGAT / DER / SAG August 31 2005.
